Before Tomorrow.
I have spent much time in South Korea. First as a student, later through different visits. Each time I return, the country feels both familiar and changed. There is something here that stays with me.
Only a short time ago, Korea was among the poorest nations in the world. Now it stands among the most advanced. The transformation has been rapid, almost difficult to believe. In the speed of that change, traces of another time remain, yet they fade a little more each year.
These photographs were made in those moments between what was and what is coming. I wanted to stay close to the ordinary, to what still feels true; The small gestures, the silence, the warmth that survives change.

They are my attempt to see the country as it is, before tomorrow.
